Aims

CODECS (https://codecs.vanhamel.nl) is a MediaWiki website that already heavily uses Semantic MediaWiki (SMW) to enhance database functionality, create structured data and pursue linked data approaches. Why then would we want to try and use Wikibase in addition to SMW? See this page on CODECS for a brief outline of motivations.

• Monasticon Hibernicum - transforming the present database of early Irish ecclesiastical settlements available from https://monasticon.celt.dias.ie into Linked Open Data.

• Project:Maldwyn - revive the Maldwyn database
• Project:Irish annals: using database records to navigate TEI XML editions.
